I’ve spent over 40 years in the field of Laboratory Medicine at for-profit and non-profit organizations, integrated and academic health systems, small community hospitals, physician office laboratories, military hospitals, startup labs, healthcare focused vendors and practice management organizations. As a Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt, using the appropriate Lean Tools I assist clients in the elimination of waste and process standardization where possible. My laboratory experience includes clinical and anatomic pathology, MOHS histology laboratories and physician offices. I help build and support hospital-based outreach programs including customer service call centers, medical couriers (internal and 3rd party), physician and standalone phlebotomy offices, supplies and receiving specimen. With all my clients, I focus on laboratory regulatory (CLIA/CAP/ACHC/COLA/NY/CA), inspection readiness, applications, on-site inspection support and plan of correction follow-up if required.
